Historical Glimpse of S.N.S.Y Degree College
Our college is located in the serene lap of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, in the Harijan-dominated residential area of Ramnagar. The campus is surrounded by significant landmarks - the P.H.C. campus to the east, court campus to the north, city road to the west, and Sadar Hospital to the south, all bearing testimony to its historical importance.
Just behind our college building stands the remnants of the British-era courthouse, declared as ruins after independence in 1961 and auctioned off. These ruins remind us of the historical significance of this place. Within our campus premises, we have the ancient temple of Goddess Ahilya Devi, where devotees still come from far and wide for her darshan.
About 500 meters east-west of the college are two more ancient and historical temples - the Sati Mandir and another grand temple, both standing as architectural marvels. The college is also known as Hola Bazar and Diyara Area College among locals, making it truly unique.
The awakening towards education that this institution has brought to the region has earned it glory and excellence, which continues to grow with each passing year.
Establishment of the College
Founding Vision
Recognizing the lack of graduate education opportunities for students in the region, the college was founded on March 28, 1984, by the freedom fighter Late Ramlal Singh Yadav. Established with the participation of local community members, the decision to create this institution was driven by the needs of all social classes and community requirements.
Early Development
After the land transfer in 1984, the college began its operations with contributions from various educationists and social workers. The then MLA, Dr. Shivnarayan Yadav, made relentless efforts for the implementation of this college. From its inception to the present day, the college has achieved numerous milestones in academic and cultural fields.
Modern Facilities
The college has developed state-of-the-art facilities for students including modern buildings, a well-stocked library, functional laboratories, sports equipment, art rooms, medical services, and computerization. Dr. Shivnarayan Yadav's persistent efforts led to the college's permanent affiliation with Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, marking a significant achievement in its growth story.

About S.N.S.Y Degree College
S.N.S.Y Degree College, Rambagh, Purnea was established in 1984 with the aim of providing quality higher education to students in the Purnea district of Bihar. Affiliated to Purnea University, Purnea, the college offers undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce.
The college is named after its founders - Shiv Narayan Singh Yadav and is committed to the educational upliftment of the region. With a sprawling campus and modern facilities, the college provides an ideal environment for academic excellence.

Permanent Affiliation
The college received permanent affiliation from the Department of Human Resource Development, Government of Bihar (Memo No. 1-01/2003 Higher Education 1313 dated 02/09/04) and L.N.M.U. Darbhanga (Letter No. Para/955/963 dated 09/09/04). We have permanent affiliation for all 21 Arts subjects, all approved Science subjects, and Commerce subjects since the 2002-2003 session. The college is also recognized under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956 (Ref. No.-835/2010(CPP/1)).
